Home alarm systems are installed to lead a hassle free life away from the tension losing the peace of your home plagued by burglary, theft, or fire. They are either of the hard-wired type or the wireless type. They are provided by various security companies. The major security companies that provide home alarm solutions are ADT, Brinks and Protect America. They provide independent home security or home alarm systems or along with installation at a very affordable price. They also provide self monitored home alarm systems. There is a professional monitoring agent who provides the monitoring in these cases.
However, the option of self installing a home alarm system is also available. Some home alarms are complex and need a professional to install it. But there are home alarm systems that are simple and do not need to be installed professionally. They are self installed home alarm system. There are many good security systems that are sold in kit forms and can be installed by and are do-it-yourself. There are many features of a home alarm system that can be self installed. Most simple systems use a bell, aloud buzzer or sound source to inform about an intrusion in a home or elsewhere... The sound source or sounder has o be mounted at such a place that the buzzer or sound is heard. A circuit of switches is attached to the buzzer or sounder and a battery is connected to the system.
The alarm system is called a close circuit system in electrical terminology. The wiring loop encloses all switches and opening any one of them makes the loop to break thus triggering the sounder circuit. The switch loop circuit continuity is not restored if simply the doors and windows are closed. It does not operate the sound until someone switches it off or the battery end is disconnected from the sounder. The switch device consists of two parts, a small plastic box that consists of a small magnet and a box that contains the actual switch. The magnet and switch are interconnected. When the magnet is far away from the switch, the contacts on the switch are separated and the switch is said to be open. Conversely, when the magnet and switch come together, the switch contacts come together and the switch is closed.
A wireless door magnetic contact activates the siren when someone tries to open the door. Similarly, a wireless windows sensor activates the siren if the glass is broken. A passive infrared wireless sensor blows the siren if someone enters the room or if any living entity is detected in the room. Sometimes there is a panic button in a device in your hand can blow the siren if anything wrong is detected. These devices are all self installed home alarm systems and they are simple, and easy to use. Most of them are wireless. They can be self installed and save you the hassles of operating a complex home alarm system.
